FAQ
What are service robots?
There are two major categories of robots, industrial robots and service robots (definition IFR, International Robotics Federation). Service robots have been in use since the year 2000 and work closely with humans, providing simple services for humans. We also refer to this as human-centered robotics.
What service robots are available today?
In the professional environment, there are assistance robots, social robots, care robots, logistics robots, transportation robots, telepresence robots, CoBots, humanoid robots, cleaning robots, and more. So it is a wide range of types of service robotes.
What tasks do service robots perform?
Service robots can perform a very wide range of tasks. Each robot has its own intended use. A care robot is used in nursing, a logistics robot for logistical activities. The activities of service robots can be summarized as follows:
Logistics, transportation, cleaning, registering and escorting people, giving information of all kinds, assisting nursing staff, general activation and entertainment of hotel guests, patients, nursing home residents and staff, and many more. The robots can also be used for marketing purposes.
Which industries are suitable for the use of service robots?
Basically, robots can be used for any industry. Arabesque is mainly active in the healthcare, hospitality, retail and workplaces industries.
How can service robots be used to digitize?
Service robots take over repetitive processes. Digitization is achieved by optimizing and automating processes. This can address labor shortages, reduce costs, provide data analytics, and make staff happier. By using service robots, the customer and employee experience is improved.
How can our team understand robotics?
Each robotics project is supported by workshops, trainings and keynotes for your staff. The goal is to give staff the opportunity to learn about the robots, ask questions, and form their own opinions before deploying them. In addition, we offer support.
How can I address employees’ fears?
Fears are normal and should be able to be addressed by your employees. Before the robots are used for the first time, employees are familiarized with the robots with live demos, in workshops and Q & A sessions. This allows them to gain first-hand experience, ask questions and exchange ideas with their colleagues. By giving employees the space to test robots by themselves, they are met where their needs are. Forming their own opinions is an important aspect of this.
What is RaaS (Robot as a Service)?
RaaS is a subscription-based service model, a flexible solution for companies that are thinking about using robotics but do not have the expertise or internal resources to purchase and maintain such robotics solutions.
Companies reap the benefits of process automation with robots by renting robots and accessing a mostly cloud-based subscription service. This avoids the high initial costs and disadvantages of ownership.
How does RaaS (Robot as a Service) impact organizations?
As more organizations undergo a full digital transformation, new technologies are being deployed to improve process efficiency to meet growing business needs. As a result, service robotics and RaaS are becoming increasingly popular. Just like other shared services, they are convenient, cost-effective and can be implemented more quickly in enterprises.
Service robotics - why now?
Especially since the introduction of the ‘Robot as a Service model’ (RaaS), robots are a must-have. They offer great advantages by automating processes in the subscription model: Companies can plan and automate in a flexible, cost-effective and agile way. Many different processes can be automated through the various robotics models. The RaaS subscription model makes this possible even for small and medium-sized companies. No inventory and no obligations. You decide for yourself how long you want to use which robots in the subscription and for which activities. In addition, you can agilely adapt the robots to new activities, upgrade and replace them with other machines for other processes. The monthly subscription costs are moderate with RaaS, the costs are generally manageable and easy to calculate.
What is human-centered robotics?
Humans are at the center, not the technology. The robots are programmed in a human-centered way, can be operated intuitively and help your employees to enjoy their work more. The service robots in particular have been designed for a human-centered way of working. The human-machine interaction is designed positively and makes employees happier at work.
